PHP Coding Exercise

Given a simple HTML page, create data storage and "wire" HTML "buttons" to a database. Functionality coded includes:

  1. Create a .csv flat file to store data.
  2. Display of the current table of currencies - being read from the "db". The display is refreshed when a new record is saved.
  3. Search - will display an existing record when the user searches on an existing ID.
  4. New - will display the next available ID number and default values for the user to replace.
  5. Save - will save a new currency record to the db. Duplicates are not permitted.
  6. Errors returned to the user if attempting to add a duplicate record, or if there were another error, such as failure to open the file.
  7. Under Construction page is displayed when the other page links are selected.

Recent Collaborative JOOMLA! Work

Joomla! User Group New England

In collaboration with other website team members of the Joomla New England user group , jointly created the Joomla Day New Enland website, and modified and improved the design of the Joomla! User Group New England website. Work performed includes module and component installations and configurations, template modifications, CSS modifications to improve appearance and usability of both sites.

Massachusetts 4-H website JOOMLA! installations and content work

Performed extensions selection, installation, and configuration work, made some style adjustments to the UMass-created template, migrated and re-formatted content from the original site to match the new styles of the new JOOMLA! site. See: Massachusetts 4-H Youth Development Program

Having assumed maintenance responsibility for this website, the work in progress is gradually replacing outdated table-based layouts with CSS. Where tables still occur on the site, prototypes are under development that will completely replace the tables, as incremental improvements are implemented on the site.

JOOMLA! Prototype Website

This is a JOOMLA! CMS website that is currently under development. It is used to prototype menu structure and sample extensions and slide-show choices for eventual conversion of the CBBLD website to a JOOMLA! implementation. The template is custom designed, as are many variants of this template that are not currently displayed. All template work is based on pure CSS-only layouts.
